The Market: 2012

In the last month we have seen the price of gold go down $150.  In my recent market posts I had said that although there are valid arguments for gold to go up, I was afraid that in the near term gold may go down.  This has proven true.

The question remains, is now the proper time to sell gold jewelry?  The answer remains the same. Yes.  If now is the right time financially for you to sell, than yes, now is the right time.  Remember that gold is still near all time highs and presents an opportunity to raise much needed capitol with out any additional expense.  We make every effort
to pay the strongest prices for items that are only worth their weight in gold.

Additionally we will review all of your gold items for values that may not be apparent to you such as antiquity, aesthetic, style, and signatures.

Diamonds, however are still at all time highs.  Diamonds over 1 carat are strong and diamonds over 2 carats are unbelievably high.  The better the quality diamond, the stronger the price.  Strength is shown in Round Brilliant Cuts and many of the fancy shape diamonds.  The only real weakness might be in the Marquise shape stones.

If I were asked the same question about diamonds that I was about gold, which is, “should I sell my diamonds?”,  I would answer with a resounding yes.

This is just a study in logic; diamonds have stayed at these levels, with a few weeks exception, for almost one year.  They are at their highest but have refused to break through these levels.  So, when approached intelligently, now is an excellent time to consider selling unused or unwanted diamonds.

I can also suggest that we consider this a very strong market for diamonds. If you are considering selling, now is the time to get educated as to your diamond’s resale value.
